+ Hand Drawn Sweaters

Shantell Martin explores the impermanent – light shows whose images fade out, in, and out again, drawings on cars only to be washed off by the rain, or a pair of white kicks, soiled by New York street adventures. In theme with her appreciation of art during its creation and eventual fade, Martin has unveiled her first collection of wearable art. The collection opens with white sweatshirts – 15 hand illustrated, all one of a kind Martin creations. All 15 sweatshirts represent one continuous quirky storyline of whimsy and imagination, with characters, creatures and messages playfully arranged in signature Martin style. Whether wearers choose to preserve the garment as a piece of art or integrate it into their own wardrobes, these pieces are sure to delight – and surprise – their observers.
